                  Orepuki Beach Cafe

 

Recently awarded the national best rural cafe award the Orepuki beach cafe offers great dining and a lovely ambience in a restored villa in the tiny settlement of Orepuki. Founded by whalers and then gold miners Orepuki is rich in history and is situated across Te Waewae bay from the Fiordland Mountains is these days legendary for its spectacular scenery and wind-sculpted trees.

 

 

Run by Brian and Penny who grow most of the food served in the cafe you can be assured of a pleasant time. Be sure to book in the summer months for even though it is in the middle of nowhere this cafe is often filled to capacity.
